I believe the therapeutic alliance and safety are important aspects for effective treatment. I have gained these skills during my time as an intern with Omega Mental Health and continue to grow under supervision as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor to best meet the diverse needs of Central Valley’s underserved communities and populations. Specialties — I have been trained to practice faith-based interventions along with other theoretical orientations such as Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential as my primary modalities. I am EMDR Trained and am working towards EMDR Certification. I am open to using varying treatment styles based on client needs.

Dorthina is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist that enjoys working with teens, young adults, older adults, families and especially couples. Dorthina believes that everyone should have a space to safely process, without judgement, and nurtures the courage to be imperfect. Dorthina works from a collaborative, strengths-based approach, supporting clients to be the author of their own lives. Dorthina also encourages her clients to pursue a holistic approach to health, combining exercise, proper sleep and nutrition, spiritual practices, nurturing relationships, and activities they enjoy.
